Week of nothingness

The month of July was a non-stop blur for us this year. From family get together, birthdays, bachelorette parties, weddings and visits to the vet's office. You name it, we had it going on this month! I literally would come home from work and run right back out the door with Eric to get to whatever it is we had going on that evening. It was INSANE!!!

I had had enough! I told Eric I was taking a week off, and that is exactly what I did. I blocked out the 5-10p.m. time slots Mon-Fri. on our Calendar for the entire first week of August and wrote ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on them. Let me tell you, after non-stop go, go, go, sitting on your butt for a week is exactly what one needs. :)

I declined the invitation to go to an A's game, I said no to dinner in the city and I didn't even kinda feel bad about it. Usually I'm one of those people who just hates to pass up a good event with friends & food, but when you've only spent a collective time of maybe 40 hours in your own house for the entire month, you start to wonder if you're doing too much.
(And the answer is yes!)

I put my phone on vibrate and read my books, wrote some emails, paid some bills, and caught up on the gazillion Millionaire Matchmaker shows I had on the DVR. Not to mention the much needed cuddle time I got to spend with the Love of my life. :)

Moral of my story: When you feel like you're doing too much, you are!

Solution: Tell everyone/thing to bugger off and go do what you want! You have to make yourself happy first. :)
