Along the way we noticed a truck stalled on the side of the road and pushed him into the parking lot so he could get out of traffic. Then we settled onto a train and began our ride into San Francisco toward Ghiradelli Square and the promise of chocolate galore!
BART is always an interesting ride, but even more so on the weekends. We saw a girl with a nose ring, not just a nose piercing, but a full on Bull ring in her nose. And a girl who had decided that piercing both of her cheeks was the statement she wanted to make. It was only slightly disturbing watching her play with her cheek piercing. Eric asked me "if she took it out could she spit water at someone through the hole in her cheek". I told him, he should ask her!
We made it to the Embarcadero station and onto the street level and then realized that we knew where to pick up the bus, but not which bus was the correct one. So we thankfully noticed a bus schedule posted across the street conveniently on our current walking path. However, just to show how short our attention span is, I literally asked Eric a question as we began crossing the street and by the time we reached the other side (.5 seconds) we had already forgotten to check the map. Oh well.... we thought, we'll just ask the bus driver. Luckily they have these really cool inventions called Signs on the front and side of the bus that tell you where that particular bus is headed so we found our way alright. Not that it would have been a big deal, since you can walk to Ghiradelli square, but I tire out easily these days (I know, I'm a big baby) and I wanted to save as much energy as possible for EATING CHOCOLATE!
To prepare ourselves for the onslaught of sugar we stopped at the fish market around Pier 39 and bought a Clam chowder bread bowl, Yum! I haven't had one of those in ages and it was mighty tasty.
To the point: We made it to the Chocolate festival where we purchased two sampling cards giving us a total of 30 samplings. Amazingly enough we were soooo sugared out by the 15th booth that we ended up selling our second ticket and walking around trying to 'walk off the buzz'.
While at the festival we saw the FUNIEST onezie ever! We almost purchased it, but had a moment of sticker shock at the $22 price tag. Maybe we can find it online for cheeper, it goes a little something like this:
