Too cool for school

Eric and I had another prenatal appointment on Monday. We got to hear the heartbeat. :)

It was a very cool moment. That little guys heartbeat is so fast, and even though I knew it was going to be going at super speeds it was still amazing to hear.
Another cool moment... while listening to the heartbeat our little bean kicked the monitor so you could clearly hear the foot to tummy contact. At that moment I could have sworn I felt the kick too (but I didn't'). It was one of those audio/sensory override moments, ya know when you hear something 'pop' and you automatically think 'owe' even though it didn't hurt.... one of those moments.

My doctor said I should start feeling the kicking and such in about 2-3 weeks. I'm kinda excited about that, how awesome to actually get to feel the baby moving. But at the same time, ignorance is bliss. The only thing I'm aware of right now is the growing bulge under my t-shirt (and that my slacks no longer fit - sad day), and my steadily growing appetite. I still can't eat a lot all at once, but I do eat more often. In fact today I had to have lunch at 11a.m. because I was STARVING!

Oh Kelly, we are SOOOOO excited for you & Eric! I can't wait for you to feel the bean kicking: it's truly amazing! Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, I'm sure you're one cute prego. :)

YAY! So I found something at Motherhood Maternity that I bought so that I could keep wearing my same pants for MONTHS before buying maternity pants- it's called the Belly Band. It'd an elastic band that's abou 1 foot long and it goes under your shirt, but over your belly and over your pants to make it look like a layered shirt, and it's tight enough that you do'nt have to button your pants or even zip them and they stay on. I LOVED it and wore my normal slacks to work almost my entire pregnancy!

I got a few of those belly bands. They work okay... i don't know if its the shape of my hips or what but the band always wants to ride up. Not to mention the fact that if its even kind of warm I die of heat stroke with that thing on - it doesn't breath very well. I'm going with the rubber band to extend my button space right now... we'll see how long I can get away with that.
